Studies and Working Conditions in the Field

ÉTUDE BRIO-RH

The firm Brio RH was selected to assist the Lifesaving Society in conducting a comparative analysis of key positions in the aquatic sector. Initially, a survey was sent to all operators of swimming facilities in Quebec regarding the overall compensation within their organizations for positions such as assistant lifeguard, lifeguard, instructor, trainer, and aquatic coordinator.

The primary goal behind this exercise was to thoroughly analyze the working conditions of the various positions studied, and then identify one or more jobs with similar tasks and responsibilities. The final objective was to define the value of the work of the positions mentioned above and relate it to the comparable positions defined using the point and factor method. It is important to note that all data were solely collected and statistically processed by Brio RH for the sake of impartiality.

A comprehensive analysis of the overall compensation for the different positions studied, the determination of comparable positions, the value of the positions, as well as the issuance of various recommendations concerning the attraction, recognition, and retention of aquatic staff are part of the report’s findings. Below, you will find the general version of the report, along with segmented versions by environment and administrative region.
