Supervision of Aquatic Activities for Groups of Children
SUPERVISION OF AQUATIC ACTIVITIES
The objective of the supervision of aquatic activities for groups of children training is to better equip parents, lifeguards, day camp counselors, aquatic managers and all other stakeholders to understand their roles and responsibilities during aquatic activities, to ensure that they are safe and fun. All activities and information provided are based on the Supervision of Aquatic Activities for Groups of Children Guide. Moreover, the training is offered in two different formats, either as a workshop or asynchronously in French only (see French website).
WORKSHOP
The workshop is between 1.5 and 2 hours long. There are several activities and scenarios that give participants the opportunity to share their past experiences with a certified instructor. The course costs $650, regardless of the number of participants, and is payable by credit card only. The workshop is divided into 5 sections:
- Drowning Prevention
- Risk behaviours
- Safe supervision techniques
- Overview of the Swim With Me Challenge program
- Shared Responsibilities of Different Stakeholders
