Club
At the Lifesaving Society, any form of abuse, harassment, neglect or violence will not be tolerated. That's why, in collaboration with the Regroupement Loisir et Sport du Québec (RLSQ), we take steps to provide a healthy environment, free from abuse, harassment, neglect or violence. We encourage the reporting of such behaviors as soon as they occur. We will not tolerate any form of abuse, harassment, neglect or violence, whether physical, psychological or sexual, in any program or activity provided by ourselves or our members.
By making this service available to you, we wish to demonstrate our commitment to protecting our members by offering them a safe, fair and trustworthy environment.

AFFILIATION
Affiliation is mandatory for all clubs wishing to offer training and participate in sanctioned lifesaving sport competitions in Quebec and Canada. The affiliation is valid from September 1 to August 31 of the current season and includes the accreditation of one coach. A club may consist of an unlimited number of athletes.
By becoming accredited with the Lifesaving Society, a club receives:
- The publication of its contact information in Alerte! magazine and on the Lifesaving Society’s website
- The promotion of its events on the Lifesaving Society’s website and on the Lifesaving Sport Facebook page
- Free access to borrow equipment for training and sanctioned lifesaving sport events
- Privileged access to documents and events designed to train and enhance the skills of its athletes, coaches, and officials
- Insurance coverage for directors and officers
Following affiliation, all new clubs must send the Lifesaving Sport Coordinator the following:
- Their Quebec Enterprise Number (NEQ)
- The letters patent (confirming their non-profit status)
- The list of members of their Board of Directors
ORGANIZE A COMPETITION
Before organizing a competition, every lifesaving sport club must complete the sanctioning form.
Make sure you have all the necessary information on hand before filling it out, including the details related to your request.
This form is essential for processing your application and ensures that all required standards are met.
EQUIPMENT LOAN FOR A COMPETITION
For each loan, the borrower must complete and email the duly filled-out form to sauvetagesportif@sauvetage.qc.ca at least two weeks before the date the equipment is to be picked up. Please contact the Lifesaving Society to confirm the availability of the vehicle.
This contract will be signed by both parties at the time of the equipment loan.
TERMS OF USE
- The borrower agrees to assist the Lifesaving Sport Coordinator when picking up and returning the equipment (i.e., assembling and storing the equipment in the warehouse).
- The borrower agrees to inspect all equipment provided before leaving the Lifesaving Society.
- The borrower agrees to return the borrowed equipment on the agreed date and time.
- The borrower agrees to use the equipment exclusively for the approved activity. Any use outside the approved activities will result in the cancellation of the current loan and the loss of future borrowing privileges.
- In the event of theft, the borrower agrees to immediately notify the Lifesaving Society and provide the necessary statements confirming the incident.
- In the event of loss or damage, the borrower will reimburse the full replacement value of the equipment (including taxes).
- In the event of non-return due to borrower negligence, the borrower will reimburse the full replacement value (including taxes).
RESPONSABILITIES
The Lifesaving Society cannot be held responsible for any unlawful or fraudulent use of the borrowed equipment. The borrower must comply with all applicable rules and standards.
In general, the borrower must ensure to:
- Avoid damaging the equipment
- Clean the equipment after use so that it is returned in the same condition as when it was borrowed
