IMPLEMENTATION OF MANDATORY EMAIL

Announcement of the Implementation of Mandatory Email for Creating Candidate Files in Lifesaving or First Aid Exams

Starting Wednesday, March 26, 2025, a new practice will be implemented regarding the management of member information and validation in our database. This update aims to add a fourth validation factor and optimize the process of creating online accounts by making the email address mandatory for all members.

Why this change?

The Lifesaving Society is working on overhauling its database, which will become a national platform. The transition to this new platform will take place within the next 18 months. In order to properly plan for this migration, it is now necessary to have an email address in the file of each member of the Lifesaving Society.

In addition to preparing for the system change, this update will improve data management and ensure that all members have the necessary information to access our online services in a smooth and secure manner. The email will now be one of the four pieces of information required to authenticate a member in the system. We rely on your cooperation to ensure a successful implementation and smooth transition.

2 options to help you help us:

#1: You can send us the list of your Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion candidates from last year who are already in the database. To do so, use this template and submit it via this online form. This option will allow you to get a head start on your spring session.

#2: When entering your candidates into the system, the addition of the candidate's email will be required as an additional mandatory step if the email is missing from their file.

Please note that for new candidate file creations, the email field will now be mandatory.

During our upcoming Virtual Meetups, in addition to the topics already planned, we will take a moment to discuss this new procedure. Sign up now: https://sauvetage.qc.ca/fr/formations/rendez-vous-virtuels
