Aquatic Emergency Care/AED

You own an aquatic facility or work in one? The Aquatic Emergency Care/AED award is required by the Regulation respecting safety in public baths, which stipulates that owners of aquatic facilities whose water plan surface is less than 100 m2 (such as hotels and campings) must ensure that an employee with this certification is on site.

This 20-hour training will teach you the principles underlying first aid techniques that must be performed for the most common injuries around aquatic environments, and treatments to administer to victims in cardiopulmonary arrest. You will focus on basic lifesaving techniques, victim removal, entries into water, spinal-injury victim management in the aquatic environment and rescuing an unconscious or non-swimmer victim.

Moreover, you will learn to provide basic treatments in order to immobilize an injury, to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and to administer epinephrin with an auto-injector. At the end of this course, you will be able to quickly recognize abnormal signs and symptoms and to apply the necessary measures.
