Reminder of Our Official Positions

Important Reminder for Lifeguards and Aquatic Staff:
Stay Vigilant : No Phone Use While on Duty

Following an article published this morning in La Presse about cellphone use in the workplace, the Lifesaving Society would like to remind all lifeguards and aquatic staff that during supervision hours or when present on the pool deck or near any body of water, the use of a cellphone or any other personal electronic device is strictly prohibited.

This rule is intended to ensure constant vigilance and maintain an optimal level of attention toward swimmers. Every second counts when it comes to preventing drownings.

This directive is part of our Policy on the Use of Electronic Devices, which is included in our broader set of positions, policies, and codes of conduct.

We encourage you to read or revisit these key documents to better understand the expectations and responsibilities that come with your role as a lifeguard: Consult our positions, policies, and codes of conduct.

Thank you all for following these guidelines and staying focused on what matters most: keeping everyone safe in and around the water, and preventing drownings.
