Workers Near Water
This course aims to provide basic skills to recognize situations that pose a drowning risk around a pool and to understand the means of preventing them.
Regulatory Context : The Regulation respecting occupational health and safety applies, unless otherwise specified, to any establishment as defined in Section 1 of the Act respecting occupational health and safety. Accordingly, for activities carried out within an establishment, work at risk of drowning is defined as follows: “A worker is at risk of drowning when they are located above or within 2 metres of an area where the water depth exceeds 1.2 metres over a width of more than 2 metres, or in an area where the water flow may carry a person away.” (In force since March 22, 2022)
Participants : Participants are workers who perform tasks near a swimming pool or an artificial basin. The training aims to raise awareness of the risks associated with accidental falls into water, the preventive measures to be implemented, and the intervention methods for themselves and for colleagues following an accidental fall. Participants are strongly encouraged to enter the water wearing their work uniform; however, this is not mandatory to obtain certification.
Prerequisites : None
