TOUT BAIGNE AU SOLEIL PROGRAM

Tout baigne au soleil

What is this about?

“Cancer”: a word that just keeps on being terrifying, no matter how often we hear it. It seems, however, that this fear vanishes when winter leaves; people just want to enjoy the long-awaited warmth of the sun and work on their tan at the pool or at the beach.

This is why the Lifesaving Society, in cooperation with the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux and the Institut national de santé publique du Québec, has implemented Tout baigne au soleil. It’s an innovative program that aims at raising awareness among lifeguards and patrons about the importance of sun protection, specifically during outdoor aquatic activities.

How does it work?

Organise activities with your swimmers and children’s groups, or set up your swimming facilities using these ready-to-use resources available on VITA:

  • The Guide du gestionnaire aquatique, which provides all the essential information and tools for implementing a sun protection policy;
  • The Guide du sauveteur, which includes information on skin cancer, activities for young swimmers and a poster on the basic rules of sun protection.

This summer, let’s make the most of the good weather and be extra vigilant about the harmful effects of the sun!

What’s more, educating bathers on the use of sun protection helps you improve water quality!

Here are two videos (in french only) to help you share information about the Tout baigne au soleil program:
