Joining the Lifesaving Society is more than just accessing a recognized organization and offering our training programs! It's also about becoming part of a dynamic community and enjoying exclusive benefits.
RECOGNITION: As an affiliated member of the Lifesaving Society, you distinguish yourself as a reference aquatic facility offering certified programs in lifesaving, swimming, and first aid, recognized not only in Quebec but also across Canada and internationally. This affiliation highlights your commitment to excellence and aquatic safety, placing your institution at the heart of a prestigious network dedicated to training and awareness.
RECRUITMENT: Attract the best talent by partnering with a respected organization in the aquatic field. Affiliated members have access to the job listings section on the Lifesaving Society website. They can also post their job offers in the dedicated employment newsletters sent to our 14,000 certified lifeguards, as well as post their course schedules and requalification dates for free on the dashboard.
PROMOTION: Take advantage of increased visibility through our promotional initiatives, featured in our media kit. The range of visibility options will help you communicate your message effectively to your target audience!
NETWORKING: Join a community of aquatic professionals. Discuss current and future challenges, share experiences, and find solutions together.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: The Lifesaving Society is renowned for its expertise in aquatic safety throughout Quebec. Each year, we highlight and advocate for the issues affecting our members to various levels of government and the media.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Receive comprehensive support in areas such as aquatic surveillance and rescue operations, complaint management processes, as well as the teaching and administrative management of courses and programs offered by the Lifesaving Society. Member aquatic facilities also receive organizational support in the event of a critical incident.
INFORMATION AND RESOURCES: The Lifesaving Society is committed to keeping you informed. Receive valuable news and information through our monthly newsletters, educational webinars, the Alerte magazine, as well as our training events and courtesy visits. You can also contact our team by phone or email, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, for any questions or assistance requests.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AFFILIATE MEMBER
- Adhere to the Lifesaving Society's Administrative Policy on Program and Service Delivery.
- Adhere to the Lifesaving Society's Code of Conduct for Affiliate Members.
- Adhere to the Lifesaving Society's official positions.
- Create an online account on the Lifesaving Society Website.
- Renew your membership each year from your Lifesaving Society online account to receive membership benefits. No exam will be processed if the membership is not in good standing, even if the course has already taken place.
- Respect the Lifesaving Society's visual identity.
- Meet the requirements of the current Program Guide.
- Check candidate prerequisites and instructor qualifications prior to the start of a course.
- Adhere to the prerequisites determined by the Lifesaving Society for training.
- Do not turn down a candidate who has all the required prerequisites.
- Offer no more than 8 hours of instruction per day (for one course).
- Create the course’s test sheet from the Lifesaving Society's Online Dashboard and add instructors if preferred.
- Ensure that test results are submitted to the Lifesaving Society within 14 days, even if this task is delegated to an instructor.
- Pay for certificates and order fees within 30 days after receipt of invoice.
* If the Lifesaving Society has reason to believe that a training event organized by the Affiliate does not meet established standards, the Society reserves the right to monitor the management of the Affiliate's training and to apply any other sanctions in accordance with the Complaint Management Policy.
DECENTRALIZED AND CENTRALIZED TRAINING
The Lifesaving Society has developed centralized and decentralized training in the aquatic field. Decentralized training is offered by Lifesaving Society Affiliates in good standing. Centralized training is managed and offered exclusively by the Lifesaving Society.

The Lifesaving Society shares information and news with its members through e-newsletters and phone calls. Make sure to sign up for our Affiliate newsletters to stay informed of the latest news and changes.
*Affiliates with outstanding invoices must pay them before submitting test sheets or purchase orders to the Lifesaving Society. The Society will not issue certificates to, or process orders from, candidates who have taken courses from Affiliates with outstanding invoices.
