IMPORTANCE OF VIRAL FILTERS
Pocket masks originally come with a non-return valve that already protects the lifeguard. This is what all lifeguards already use and what they have been trained with. However, with new health standards implemented for lifeguarding in the context of COVID-19, the Lifesaving Society, Public Health and APSAM recommend that a viral filter is added to protect all lifeguards who will perform ventilation against the virus.
It is YOUR responsibility as the employer and / or aquatic manager to provide viral filters to your employees and to ensure that every first aid kit contains them.
