The department of Sports and Facilities is looking for an Aquatic Supervisor to join its team!

The Aquatic Supervisor oversees the delivery of the Swimming Pool programs and services. The Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, administration, and operations of the pool.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordination and instruction of staff training, ensuring staff certifications are up-to-date and complete

• Ensuring the facility and staff are equipped to operate optimally and safely.

• Reporting incidents to the supervisor and making the necessary corrections

• Performing administrative tasks such as: subordinate staff schedules, timesheets, daily pool readings, usage data, program, and incident reports

• Perform lifeguarding and program instruction

• Development of swimming programs that meet the needs of the community

• Recruitment and retention of potential lifeguard candidates

• Provide on-going performance management and evaluations of staff

• Ensure the facility is inspected the facility daily and unsafe conditions or equipment are reported

• Perform light maintenance work on or around the pool, such as vacuuming the pool, cleaning pool deck and equipment, chemical testing and balancing, and backwashing

• Ensure that water quality is maintained in accordance with Quebec Health regulations

• Perform other related tasks as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current National Lifeguard Certification and CPR/First Aid Certification

• National Lifeguard Instructor Certification

• Pool Operators certification

• 1 Year supervisor role experience (in an aquatic setting)

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Physical Education an asset

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong leadership, interpersonal and networking skills

• Strong computer skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills
