Affiliation Form

For Lifesaving Sport Clubs

Affiliation with the Lifesaving Society is mandatory for clubs wishing to offer training sessions and participate in sanctioned sport lifesaving competitions in Quebec and Canada.

Affiliation allows clubs to take part in official sport lifesaving activities and contribute to the development of the sport in a safe and structured environment.

 

Affiliation Requirements

Validity Period: 
  From September 1 to August 31 of each season;

Accreditation: 
Affiliation includes the accreditation of one coach;

Number of Athletes: 
There is no maximum number of athletes per club.

Criminal Record Checks
To promote a safe sporting environment, coaches must undergo a criminal record check every two years.

Coaches under the age of 18 are exempt from this requirement.

 

Commitment to Integrity and Safety

The Lifesaving Society adheres to the Integrity Policy to promote a safe, respectful, fair sporting environment free from all forms of abuse, harassment, and discrimination.

All affiliated clubs and their members must comply with this policy and help maintain an atmosphere of trust within the sport lifesaving community.

L’affiliation est obligatoire pour participer à une compétition de sauvetage sportif sanctionnée. Elle est valide du 1er septembre au 31 août de la saison en cours.
1. Comportement | Behavior
En tant que club, j’accepte de me conformer aux règlements décrits dans les manuels et au code d’éthique de l’ILS* et de me conduire selon les idéaux de franc-jeu et de bon esprit sportif. (*ILS Compétition Rule Book, 2015-2019 Edition; Manuel pour les compétitions canadiennes, édition 2016; Règlements pour les compétitions en sauvetage sportif au Québec, édition juin 2017.) // The club agrees to abide by the rules, the code of ethics and to conduct itself in accordance with the ideals of fair play and good sportsmanship. 2. Consentement aux risques encourus | Consent to risks incurred
En tant que club participant ou organisateur d'une compétition, je reconnais qu’il existe des risques inhérents à la pratique du sauvetage sportif. Le club accepte tous les risques physiques autant que légaux reliés à la participation du club que je représente. Je soussigné(e), déclare qu'il n'existe aucun facteur ou condition que le club devrait dévoiler aux organisateurs qui rendrait dangereuse sa participation à cette compétition. // The club, as a participant or organizer of a competition, acknowledges that there are risks inherent in lifesaving sport. The club voluntarily accepts all physical and legal risks associated with their participation. The club declares that there are no factors or conditions that the club should disclose to the organizers that would make its participation in this competition unsafe.
3. Exonération de responsabilité | Liability waiver
J'accepte de tenir la Société de sauvetage, les hôtes, les opérateurs, les propriétaires ou occupants de l’installation, les commanditaires, le comité organisateur, les agents, les affiliés, les bénévoles, les juges et officiels ou toute autre personne impliquée dans l’organisation ou la tenue des compétitions, des épreuves et des activités connexes, indemnes de tout blâme en rapport avec la participation du club que je représente à cette activité et renonce à toute poursuite pouvant en découler. // The club agrees to hold the Lifesaving Society, hosts, operators, facility owners or occupants, sponsors, organizing committee, agents, affiliates, volunteers, judges and officials, or any other person involved in the organization or conduct of the competitions, events and related activities, harmless from any and all liability arising from their participation in this activity.
4. Autorisation de diffusion (photo - vidéo) | 4. Permission to broadcast (photo - video)
J'autorise la Société de sauvetage à utiliser dans les différents médias (presse, TV, web), le matériel photo et/ou vidéo réalisé dans le cadre des compétitions, aux fins d'assurer la promotion des événements. // The club authorizes the Lifesaving Society to use on its various platforms (press, television, web), the photos and/or video materials produced during the competitions, for the purpose of promoting lifesaving sport
