Bathing Area Accreditation

The Lifesaving Society’s accreditation program recognizes aquatic facilities that stand out for their practices in safety, supervision and risk management.

The process provides an opportunity to assess current practices, support operators in their continuous improvement efforts and recognize facilities that meet the requirements established by the Lifesaving Society.

Accreditation is not based solely on a one-time assessment. It is part of a structured process for analyzing and improving practices over a defined period.

Depending on the type of facility, the process may include scheduled audits and mystery audits, allowing practices to be observed under different operating conditions.

The objective: to foster aquatic environments where the safety of the public and staff remains at the heart of operations.

The Water Park Accreditation Program recognizes facilities that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of their guests.

The process takes place over two summer seasons and includes both a mystery audit and a scheduled audit conducted by the Lifesaving Society.

Achieving accreditation demonstrates that the facility has implemented practices that meet program requirements and is committed to maintaining high standards of aquatic safety and risk management.

Accreditation provides a structured approach to aquatic safety while recognizing the practices implemented within an aquatic facility.

An initial consultation provides an opportunity to introduce the program, determine the facility’s eligibility and explain the various steps leading to accreditation.
