Develop Your Lifesaving Skills

Lifesaving courses allow participants to progressively develop the knowledge, skills, judgment, and physical fitness needed to prevent incidents and respond effectively to emergency situations.

From introductory training to taking on initial responsibilities in aquatic supervision, each course provides an opportunity to acquire new skills and progress according to age, experience, and personal goals. The Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross certifications are key milestones on the pathway to National Lifeguard training and employment as a lifeguard.

The Aquatic Attendant course offers a separate training pathway, providing the skills needed to contribute to safety at certain aquatic facilities and respond to situations covered by this role.

Pool Attendant

The Pool Attendant course provides the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to safety at certain aquatic facilities, particularly wading pools and waterslide landing pools, in situations where the presence of an assistant lifeguard or lifeguard is not required.

The course helps participants better understand the roles and responsibilities of pool attendants, identify risks and hazards within the facility, and implement measures to control or eliminate them.

Participants also develop skills in prevention, supervision, identifying potentially dangerous situations, and emergency response.
