First Aid and Emergency Care

Why Take a First Aid Course?

An emergency can happen at any time: a serious fall, chest pain, respiratory distress, an allergic reaction, severe bleeding, or cardiac arrest. First aid training provides the knowledge and techniques needed to quickly recognize an emergency and respond effectively while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive.

Learning first aid means developing skills that can make a real difference when someone needs help.

Choose Your Course

The Lifesaving Society offers a variety of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and emergency response courses tailored to participants' needs and the requirements of different environments.

Depending on the course selected, training may cover:
  Respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies;
  Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);
  The use of an automated external defibrillator (AED);
  Severe bleeding and injuries;
  Allergic reactions and the use of an epinephrine auto-injector;
  Recognizing and managing various emergency situations.

Some courses also address the specific needs of different environments, including aquatic facilities, sports, recreational settings, and childcare facilities.

When first aid training is required for employment, it is important to verify the employer's or industry's requirements to ensure the appropriate certification is selected.

Lifesaving Society courses provide practical skills and are delivered by qualified instructors in accordance with the standards established for each program.
