This membership option is intended for organizations that offer Lifesaving Society training programs or services during a designated period of three consecutive months, at any time throughout the year.

Upon registration, information related to each aquatic facility involved must be provided to the Lifesaving Society.

Annual members may select the programs they wish to offer from the list below.

This membership option is intended for organizations whose athletes participate in lifesaving sport competitions. To be eligible, the organization must be incorporated as a non-profit organization (NPO) and operate as a recognized legal entity.

No additional proof of insurance is required, as lifesaving sport clubs are already covered through the insurance program provided to sport federations under the Regroupement Loisir et Sport du Québec (RLSQ).

This membership is valid for one complete lifesaving sport competition season, from September 1 to August 31 of the applicable year.

Requirements : Organizations affiliated as lifesaving sport clubs must ensure that all athletes and coaching personnel are accredited by the Lifesaving Society.

For organizations wishing to offer Lifesaving Society lifesaving and leadership training at their aquatic facilities. Information for each participating facility must be provided at the time of membership registration.

Requirements: Participating facilities must purchase the required training materials and submit examination sheets online upon completion of each course, in accordance with the Program Guide

For organizations wishing to offer Lifesaving Society first aid training at their aquatic facilities. Information for each participating facility must be provided at the time of membership registration.

For organizations wishing to offer Swim for Life swimming lessons at their aquatic facilities. This licence also includes the Rookie, Ranger and Star Patrol programs, as well as Bronze Star. Information for each participating facility must be provided at the time of membership registration.

Requirements: Facilities offering the Swim for Life program that do not use the Planitou platform must purchase the required Swim for Life recognition materials. In accordance with the Program Guide, all participating facilities must also submit Bronze Star program results.

For organizations wishing to offer Lifesaving Society nautical lifesaving certifications, including the Emergency Boat Rescue program. Information for each participating facility must be provided at the time of membership registration.

To maintain their status and ensure the quality of the training they provide, Affiliate Members agree to:

• Comply with the Administrative Guide for Program and Service Delivery, the Program Guide, the Member Code of Conduct, and the official positions of the Lifesaving Society.
• Create and keep their online account on the Lifesaving Society website up to date.Renew their affiliation annually to maintain their privileges and access to services reserved for Affiliate Members.
• Comply with the Lifesaving Society’s brand standards.
• Verify participants’ eligibility and the qualifications of training personnel before the start of a course.
• Apply the prerequisites established by the Lifesaving Society and accept any participant who meets the required criteria.
• Comply with training delivery standards, including the maximum number of teaching hours permitted per day.
• Create examination sheets through the Affiliate Member Dashboard and assign the appropriate training personnel, when required.
• Submit examination results to the Lifesaving Society within a maximum of 14 days, even when this responsibility has been delegated.
• Pay certification and order-related fees within 30 days of receiving the invoice.

Important : Annual renewal of affiliation is mandatory. No examination sheets will be processed and no certifications will be issued if the affiliation is not in good standing or if any invoices remain unpaid.

They can also promote job opportunities through recruitment bulletins distributed to more than 14,000 certified lifeguards, as well as post their training and recertification schedules free of charge through the Dashboard.

Benefit from specialized support in a wide range of areas, including aquatic supervision, rescue operations, complaint management, and the administration and delivery of Lifesaving Society programs. Affiliate Members can also rely on the organization’s support following critical incidents.

Through our monthly newsletters, webinars, Alerte magazine, training activities and courtesy visits, you have access to relevant and up-to-date information. Our team is also available by phone or email, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to answer your questions and provide guidance.

The Lifesaving Society offers both centralized and decentralized training in the aquatic sector. Decentralized training is delivered by Lifesaving Society Affiliate Members in good standing, while centralized training is administered and delivered exclusively by the Lifesaving Society.
