Training Camps

The technical development camps offered through the Quebec Lifesaving Sport Development Program (QLSDP) provide athletes with development opportunities that complement the training they receive with their club.

Led by coaches, lifesaving sport specialists and, depending on the needs of the activity, professionals from various fields, these camps allow athletes to further develop specific technical, tactical and physical aspects of the sport.

They contribute to athlete and next-generation development by creating additional opportunities for learning, collaboration and progression.

Development Opportunities

Technical camps may focus on different areas of lifesaving sport and can be adapted to athletes’ needs and the program’s development objectives.

Depending on the activity, they may provide opportunities to:
  Refine techniques specific to certain events;
  Develop new skills;
  Further develop competition strategies and tactical skills;
  Benefit from the expertise of coaches and specialists;
  Train and exchange ideas with athletes from different clubs;
  Discover methods and tools that support athletic development.

Who Can Participate?

Technical development camps are not reserved for Team Quebec members. They may be offered to athletes at different levels to support their development and foster the growth of the next generation of lifesaving sport athletes.

Participation in a camp does not constitute selection to Team Quebec and is not necessarily linked to identified athlete status.

Eligibility criteria may vary depending on the objectives, level and content of each activity.

Specialized Support

Depending on the objectives of the camp, various individuals may contribute to supporting and developing the athletes.

In addition to lifesaving sport coaches, some activities may involve specialists or professionals in fields that complement athletic performance.

This approach supports the athlete’s overall development and promotes the acquisition of knowledge that can be applied to training and competition.

Participate in a Technical Development Camp

Technical development camps are organized according to identified development needs and the opportunities available through the QLSDP.

Information regarding eligibility, content, dates, location, fees and registration procedures is provided when each activity is announced.
