THE CANADIAN TEAM PUSHES ITS OWN LIMITS IN EUROPE
The Lifesaving Society sent a team of lifesaving sports athletes to Warendorf, in Germany, for the 2017 German cup, which took place on November 18 and 19. This same Canadian team then headed for Heindoven, in the Netherlands, for the 2017 Orange Cup which was held on December 2 and 3.
The Canadian team did well, thanks to the athletes who took this opportunity to establish new personal records. Over 280 lifeguards from 16 countries were present at the 2017 German cup, which made the event even more special for all of the Canadian team.
As for Quebec, we want to mention Thomas Lavoie and Aude Lemare-Hamel’s performances, which allowed the Canadian team to shave 58 seconds off their team’s personal record time total during the 2017 Orange Cup.
During both cups, Quebec representatives took part in different events, such as manikin carry, ironguard, line throw or tow with fins.
