Expert advice on how to prevent drowning
Did you know that the Lifesaving Society has launched a brand new public education Website about drowning prevention?
Societedesauvetage.org is where different specialists’ passion and knowledge meet to provide water safety advice. Collaborators blog about various subjects divided into four distinct categories; they provide advice for boating activities, and for activities at public pools and beaches, in residential pools and in natural environments.
The Website also hosts all the information about the National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW) as well as an online form to order promotional packages for the 2017 NDPW. This section of the site also provides visitors with free downloadable content such as posters, banner pictures and a profile picture for Facebook and Twitter to promote the NDPW on social media.
Another innovative feature is an interactive map that displays each drowning recorded in the province of Quebec during the year, as well as a short profile of the victim and a summary of the incident.
Even though the Website is in French only, it is a great way to raise awareness about drowning prevention all around you. By sharing the advice and tools it offers with your friends and family, you can help us work towards a world free of drowning!
