Job Opportunity: Aquatic Program Coordinator Full-Time - Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA

The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Aquatic Program Coordinator to oversee and manage our aquatic programs and aquatic staff. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Community Programs and the Aquatic Manager, the Aquatic Program Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality aquatic programming that reflects the mission and values of the YM-YWHA.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate Aquatics Programs
• Coordinate and schedule all group swim classes
• Coordinate and schedule private and semi-private swim lessons
• Input all aquatic programming into registration software
• Supervise, support and schedule aquatic staff
• Recruit, onboard, train and evaluate aquatic staff
• Maintain positive relationships with parents, participants and members to enhance engagement and program uptake and accessibility
• Respond to all phone calls and emails in accordance with Y policy, and provide excellent customer service to participants and members
• Plan and supervise aquatics-related programming for families within school break settings
• Plan and supervise aquatics-related programming for campers within school break settings
Overall Pool Support
• Assist with daily operations and management of aquatic programs and facility
• Support administrative functions such as record-keeping, staff scheduling, and reporting
• Attend and contribute to aquatic team meetings and other relevant organizational meetings
• Support the Aquatic Manager with general departmental administration
• Perform front-line instructional and leadership duties as needed (eg teaching classes, evaluations, training sessions, etc.)
• Adapt to evolving community needs by contributing to program development and service expansion
• Take turns on chair or as shift supervisor in case of staffing absences
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Recreation or a related discipline
• 2–3 years of experience in aquatics leadership or programming (equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered)
• Valid National Lifeguard certification
• Swim Instructor certification (an asset)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset
Schedule:
• Sunday through Thursday, schedule may vary depending on the week
• 11am – 7pm; schedule may vary each week
Compensation:
• $45,000
