  • Bathing areas: publication of two new explanatory guides
    The Government of Québec is proud to announce the publication of two explanatory guides on the new chapitre IX, Lieux de baignade, du Code de sécurité, of the Safety Code and on the new edition of chapitre X, Lieux de baignade, du Code de construction, of the Construction Code. Produced in collaboration with the Lifesaving Society, these guides are available on the site Web du gouvernement.

  • Reminder of Our Official Positions

    Important Reminder for Lifeguards and Aquatic Staff: Stay Vigilant — No Phone Use While on Duty. Following an article published this morning in La Presse about cellphone use in the workplace, the Lifesaving Society would like to remind all lifeguards and aquatic staff that during supervision hours or when present on the pool deck or near any body of water, the use of a cellphone or any other personal electronic device is strictly prohibited.

  • New Regulation on Swimming Areas
    The regulation amending chapitre X, Lieux de baignade, du Code de construction, as well as the regulation adding chapitre IX, Lieux de baignade, au Code de sécurité, were published yesterday in the Official Gazette of Quebec. A 15-day grace period will be granted before the regulation comes into effect, officially starting on July 17. From that date onward, all swimming areas in Quebec will be required to comply with the new safety code requirements.

  • International Lifeguard Appreciation Day – July 31

    As part of International Lifeguard Appreciation Day, held annually on July 31, the Lifesaving Society takes this opportunity to highlight the extraordinary work performed by all individuals in this profession. According to an internal survey, 60% of the 20,000 certified lifeguards are actively working in various swimming facilities to provide the public with safe swimming environments.

  • ALLTIDES.COM: THE LIFEGUARDS' ONLINE SHOP
    Lifeguards now have a specialized shop where they can find everything they need. From swimsuits for training and supervision, to branded t-shirts and shorts, whistles, and pocket masks—these are just a few examples. In addition to clothing featuring the Lifesaving Society logo and items marked with a Lifeguard emblem, the shop also offers a selection of swimsuits with playful and colorful prints.
