Accreditation

Licensing (accreditation) is mandatory for all athletes wishing to participate in lifesaving sport trainings and competitions sanctioned in Quebec and Canada. Accreditations are valid from September 1 to August 31 of the current season. An athlete can only be accredited to one club per category per season and must participate under the same banner for the entire season.

Athletes are considered active and in good standing at the time of accreditation. An accreditation includes liability insurance, but does not cover injuries and/or accidents. For this type of coverage, the athlete must make his or her own arrangements.

The Lifesaving Society will check accreditations at the time of registration for a competition. However, it is the club's responsibility to ensure that its athletes are accredited for their first club-sponsored activity (i.e. training, training camp or other).
