Swim patrol Instructor
The Junior Lifeguard Instructor course provides the candidate with knowledge of the Lifesaving Society's Junior Lifeguard Program in order to teach the Junior Lifeguard Program courses.
Upon completion of the workshop, the candidate is certified as a Junior Lifeguard Instructor. This certificate allows the candidate to teach all three levels of the Junior Lifeguard Program.
** Instructors who have successfully completed the Lifesaving Society's initial Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor training have the tools and skills to teach the Junior Lifeguard Program.
MINIMUM TIME REQUIRED
- 90 minutes (synchronous distance learning)
PREREQUISITES
- Current Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard certification
- Hold a recognized teaching certificate in swimming
The candidate is responsible for proving that he/she has the required prerequisites, at the latest at the beginning of the training:
- He/she must give the instructor a photocopy of his/her teaching certificate;
- He/she must show his/her Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard certification to the instructor or complete a declaration of qualification.
Otherwise, the affiliate member reserves the right to refuse the candidate access to the Junior Lifeguard Workshop.
AWARD VALIDITY
- Lifetime, if combined with a current Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard Award.
- Valid as long as the applicant holds a current Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard Award, unless otherwise approved by the Lifesaving Society.
